I know every one says that the only way to lose weight is to have the right kind of diet and exercise. What if I could tell you, that you don't need to exercise in order to lose fat? You like? I'm sure you do. Basically, if you want those ripped arms and a 6 pack, you can't get away with not exercising. But if you only want to lose body fat then you can avoid the exercises. In other words, if you want to look good in clothes you can rely on dieting, if you want to look good naked, you need to workout. I personally would recommend that you concentrate on building muscle as well, because that is the best way to get rid of fat and keep it off. But that's a different story.

Usually, when people think of losing weight, they think of 'dieting'. A number of 'dieting' methods go through their head. One way is to just start eating less. You will lose weight (both fat and muscle), but there will come a time when you hit a plateau and not lose any more weight (not to mention the hanging skin issue). At this point, what one would normally do is to lower calories even more. Eventually, the craving attack. Ohh and when they attack. Let's just say, the phrase 'WHY, Oh God WHY??' will go through your mind a number of times.

Another way is to start skipping meals. Don't have breakfast or lunch and take a huge supper. This again has its negatives. You need to refuel your body every morning during breakfast and send the message that you are satisfied with the food and then again a reassurance at lunch in a smaller amount than the breakfast is important else the muscle loss effect. Skipping of meals is one of the worst things you can do as it gives you the complete opposite effects i.e. fat accumulation, low energy levels and craving at dinner. Ideally speaking, your dinner should be small with low carbs, but this method of training forces you to eat as much as you can at supper. Not good.

Cutting out fats and carbohydrates will do you very little good in the long term; in fact lots of negative health effects come in to play. The biggest one is over working the kidneys. Then there are stool, ulcer and digestion problems.

One should have a complete diet but also consider their metabolism, timing and type of calories. If you want to lose fat and avoid exercising, you need to look into the 1 - 2 zig-zag. There are many zig-zags around, but this is slightly different. The basic idea is that first of all you calculate your BMR and average calorie intake. Once that is done, you add some extra calories to take into consideration your activity level. E.g. the final calorie intake comes out to 2000, get your body used to these calorie by eating 2000 calories a day for about two weeks. Then you create a zig zag for 5 weeks eating 2000 calories one day and eating about 1200 for the next two days. After the 5 weeks, each about 2000 calories for 2 - 3 day and create the same zig-zag again. The idea is that you create the deficits without lowering your metabolism and deriving the energy from the fats. The amounts of deficits depend on you, but try not to go lower than 1000 calories.
